You can use Teamcenter Integration to perform a remote check in and remote check out to modify and save parts owned by a remote site. This enables you to work in a multi-site collaboration environment and modify a remote part that has been imported without transferring ownership. You can perform a remote check in or check out from Teamcenter Integration without having to use Teamcenter. This functionality applies to UGMASTER, non-master, BOMView, and BOMView revision datasets.
Parts can be remotely checked out automatically when they are modified, or they can be remotely checked out manually. They can be remotely checked in automatically during a save or close operation, or remotely checked in manually. They are checked in and out using Assembly Navigator.
The following customer default options allow you to set functionality, such as enabling automatic remote check in and check out. They are located at File→Utilities→Customer Defaults→Teamcenter Integration for NX→Miscellaneous, Remote tab.
Remote Checkin and Remote Checkout
Enables/disables remote check in and check out. The Interactive option displays messages prompting you to proceed when you are performing a remote operation.
Check-out Policy for Remote Items
The Automatic option automatically unlocks and checks out a remote part when you modify it. The Manual option requires you to manually check out a part from the Assembly Navigator, or by using the Remote Check-Out command.

The Save option checks in remote parts when you save them. The Close option checks in parts when you close them.
The following check in/out options are also available when you are working in a multi-site environment:
Check-In Local Only and Check-Out Local Only
These options are available when you select multiple items. This lets you check in or out only items owned by the local database.
Check-In All and Check-Out All
These options are available when you select multiple items. This lets you check in or out all selected items regardless of the owning site (provided you have permissions).
