If you select EDM, you must specify whether it is a two or four axis EDM. If you specify 4 axis you can set the following EDM Parameter Definitions:
Secondary Plane And Reference Plane Distance Parameters - You are prompted to specify whether a Distance Parameter is required for the SET/HEIGHT postprocessor command. This is the distance between the lower and upper wire guides. Then you can specify the G code, Word Address format, and Default value (if you don't want to insert a SET/HEIGHT command into the CLSF) for the distance parameter.
Secondary Plane Coordinate Output Mode - You are prompted to specify the method of upper wire guide (Secondary Plane) output.
Absolute Or Incremental Values With Respect To The Machine Coordinate System - Selecting this causes the GPM to output the secondary plane coordinates - U and V. The GPM determines the U and V from the tool axis and the SET/HEIGHT command.
Absolute Values Measured From The Reference Plane Coordinates - Selecting this causes the GPM to output the secondary plane coordinates - U and V. The GPM determines the U and V from the tool axis and the SET/HEIGHT command.
Incremental Values Measured From The Reference Plane Coordinates - Selecting this causes the GPM to output the secondary plane coordinates - U and V. The GPM determines the U and V from the tool axis and the SET/HEIGHT command.
Inclination With Respect To The Planes Parallel And Perpendicular To The Direction Of Motion - Selecting this causes the GPM to output the secondary plane coordinates - Q and R, where Q is Tilt and R is Lag. The GPM determines the Q and R from the tool axis and direction of motion. This option is specific to the Agiecut control.
NOTE: Additional Wire EDM information is available in Appendix E.
This option allows you to define the machine codes and axis data for a combination mill and a lathe Production Center. This Production Center method does not use Paired MDFs.
You can specify M and G codes for SET/MODE, MILL and SET/MODE,TURN. These commands cause the GPM to output the M and G codes so that the machine control changes mode. You can also specify the Production Center Mill Coordinate System:
X, Y, Z, Part Is Mapped To Cartesian Machine - You can select whether you want Radius or Diameter output.
Radius Or Diameter Output- this toggles between X as radius or X as diameter.
X, Y Part Is Mapped To Radius (Or Diam) Rotary Angle - You can also specify the following:
Radius (Or Diam) Definition (SET/TOOL,NORMAL) - you then have the following options:
Postprocessor Decides Closest Position - The GPM analyzes the existing information, and determines the closest X position. In this case the move can be on the positive or negative side of centerline.
Radius Coordinate Always On Positive Side - this applies to controllers that must have all positioning on the positive side of centerline.
Radius Coordinate Always On Negative Side - this applies to controllers that must have all positioning on the negative side of centerline.
Cross Drilling Operation (SET/TOOL,THRU) - toggles Valid/Not Valid. The command SET/TOOL,THRU indicates to GPM that the hole is through the part. SET/TOOL,NORMAL cancels this mode and returns the GPM to the previous mode of radius output.
X Radius Or Diameter Output- this toggles X as radius or X as diameter.
Y Radius Or Diameter Output- this toggles Y as radius or Y as diameter.
YAXIS Output During Polar - this option toggles between YES and NO.
Output G,I,J,K For Arc During Polar - This toggles to output or inhibit the G02/03 and I,J,K parameters for a circular interpolation block, while in polar coordinate output mode.
You can also specify whether the mode (Mill or Turn) is determined by the Z coordinate of your GOHOME point. If you set the GOHOME Determines Machining Mode to YES, the Z coordinate of the GOHOME point determines the mode. If you set this to NO, then the mode is determined by the SET/MODE command.
For example, if you set GOHOME Determines Machining Mode to YES and the Z coordinate of your GOHOME point is equal to zero then the mode is set to TURN. If the Z value is something else, the mode will be MILL.
